"The question we must ask as a society is not 'can women excel in math, science and engineering?'-Marie Curie exploded that myth a century ago-but 'how can we encourage more women with exceptional abilities to pursue careers in these fields?'" - John Hennessy, Susan Hockfield and Shirley Tilghman, presidents of Stanford University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Princeton University, respectively.
MentorNet Resources and Résumé Database
MentorNet's Resources offer community members additional information relevant to women and diversity in engineering and science, including:
- Links to outside web sites.
- A bibliography of research on women and people of color in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
- A reading list of staff and participant recommended books.
- MentorNet News, the MentorNet e-newsletter, published once every two months.
- Articles on topics such as work/family balance, self-confidence and career options - provided by the Association for Women in Science (AWIS).
MentorNet's Résumé Database provides an additional job/internship
search resource for students, allowing them to post their résumé for MentorNet's Leadership Circle, Strategic and Visionary sponsors to potentially view.
All MentorNet Community members have full access to the Resources. The opportunity to post a résumé in our Résumé Database
is open to all students who are enrolled at a college or university partnering with MentorNet, OR associated with one of MentorNet's Affiliated Partners Plus, regardless of their participation in the One-on-One E-Mentoring Program.
It's very easy: simply
join the MentorNet Community and then follow the link to the Resources or the Résumé Database.
